Beth Meyer worked at the ILRC before becoming the new Chief of Disabled Services Division for the City of Jacksonville. She worked as the executive director for the Independent Living Foundation from 2004 to 2007. In 2007, Meyer joined the Independent Living Resource Center as a development director where she served until 2010.
ILRC Executive Director Matt Motko said he is proud of Beth for her career accomplishments. "Beth has worked very hard in the disability community. We look forward to what the City can bring the community with her leadership."
She attended the University of North Florida and graduated with a bachelor's in Special Education in 1985.
Beth said she is excited to be in this new position. "There is a lot of work to be done, but I'm looking forward to improving the lives of the people we serve."
The City's recent reorganization promoted Meyer to Chief of the Disabled Services Division, now under the Parks and Community Services Department. Kevin McDaniel, previous supervisor to the Division's Disabled Parking Enforcement Program (DPEP), was promoted to Manager of Programs for the Division.
Previously, Disabled Services was under the Office of Military Services and Veteran Affairs. This is the first time disabled services was able to have its own office under the Brown administration.

Meyer began the City of Jacksonville's American's with Disabilities Act Symposium. This year's symposium will be held Thursday, May 22nd at the Haskell Building. ADA Poster-predits. More information available by calling 904.630.4940.
The ILRC partners annually with the City of Jacksonville to host the Spirit of the ADA, Emergency Preparedness Conference for Persons with Disabilities and Disability Mentoring Day.
