The ILRC to Provide LUNCH BREAK
with Help from Farah & Farah and George C. Forsythe Family Foundation
Jacksonville, FL (December 15th, 2016) --- The Independent Living Resource Center (ILRC) of Northeast Florida will provide a “Lunch Break” in 2017 to employees with a disability who are in the first two weeks of employment. The program is supported through a grant from the George C. Forsythe Family Foundation with a match from the law firm of Farah & Farah.
Lunch Break enables those with a disability who are starting employment to receive a meal each day for their first two weeks of employment. The program is designed to assist those employees with their work productivity and provide healthy nutritional guidance on meals. It may be the only meal of the day for some participants on the program.
“Data has shown that inadequate nourishment on the job can cut productivity by up to 20 percent,” said Tyler Morris, Executive Director of The ILRC. “We are grateful to provide the program with the support of the George C. Forsythe Family Foundation and Farah & Farah.”
The Tampa-based George C. Forsythe Family Foundation supports health and human services for the economically disadvantaged. The law firm of Farah & Farah provided a $50,000 matching grant to The IL Foundation this summer to kick off the 500 Founders campaign that would support CILs statewide.
